Genpin | Rethinking hiring at a fugu chain

A renewal of the recruiting site for Genpin, a nationwide fugu restaurant chain. Built in Webflow, it turns the LINE official account into a long-term hiring engine aimed squarely at the industry’s staffing shortage — and produced 350 registrations in three months.

A recruiting site that solved a hiring problem specific to hospitality

A relationship-building recruitment site that secures people over the long term

Kanmonkai Inc. runs the fugu restaurant chain Genpin nationwide. Introduced by our partner Storytellers, we handled the full renewal of its recruiting site. With the hiring market shifting rapidly, we redesigned the staffing problems specific to hospitality from the ground up, moving from a site built to increase applications to one built to grow relationships.

Serious problems specific to hospitality

• A fluid job market has intensified competition for good people
• Long-term relationships with candidates are hard to build, so contact tends to be one-off
• Company culture and the rewards of the work are not conveyed well enough
• Hiring costs keep rising while results are difficult to measure

Webharu’s new approach

Strategy

We redefined the core of recruiting activity, moving it from “apply now” to relationship building.
The conversion point became registering with the LINE official account, establishing continuous contact with people who might move jobs later. Steady communication builds trust over time, so the path to a hire opens naturally at the right moment.

The design also puts individual staff faces and words front and center, built on the theme of a recruiting site through which the people come across.

Technical work

• A light, fast build in Webflow that cut the bounce rate substantially
• Embedded TikTok videos to strengthen reach to younger candidates
• A CMS structure the hiring team can update themselves, keeping running costs minimal

Scope of work

Strategic planning /
Wireframe design
UI/UX design (Figma)
Webflow implementation
Training on updates
Continued support after delivery

We handled everything from strategy through post-launch operational support, building the site as the core platform of the company’s hiring activity.

In the client’s words

“You built a mechanism for securing people over the long term, on a completely different premise from a conventional recruiting site. What stood out was the proposal to show things rather than hide them. The response from candidates has been good, updates are easy, and our hiring team can run it themselves.”

What Webharu cares about

A recruiting site is not a job listing — it is the design of an encounter between a company and a person.
Webharu focused on a structure through which a company’s sincerity and warmth come across, pursuing a design that conveys staff expressions, the atmosphere of the workplace and the appeal of the job naturally.
Technically, we implemented a system the team can keep running on the ground, with the update burden kept to a minimum.

Why commission Webharu

• A strategic approach clearly distinct from a conventional recruiting site
• A relationship-building hiring strategy using the LINE official account
• A record of 350 registrations in three months
• A CMS design the hiring team can run alone

In closing

Making hiring systematic — that is what a Webharu recruiting site renewal is.
Precisely because securing people is hard in this era, a design that carries human warmth and a strategy that grows relationships are what produce results.
