Personal portfolio (2022)
Portfolio site | a minimal design build
The client asked for a refined, minimal portfolio, so
we produced a portfolio site in Webflow using a well-known designer’s site as a reference.
Background
The client wanted a minimal portfolio that used white space well, in order to present their own work more strikingly.
The challenge was to understand the aesthetics of the reference design and rebuild from it while keeping originality, rather than copying it outright.
Simple yet memorable; stripped of excess yet still individual — that was the balance we aimed for.
Approach
We built it in Webflow, adjusting layout, color and white-space balance in fine increments.
Keeping the atmosphere of the reference design, we reconstructed the color, typography and white-space design to hold a beautiful distance that never becomes an outright copy.
We also added animation and micro-interactions to give a static design a dynamic rhythm.

What we focused on
Minimal design tests your ability to subtract rather than to add.
In this project the reference design was extremely well resolved, so we spent our time on the subtraction and reconstruction needed to bring out originality.
The result carries its own character while conveying a quiet beauty.
